Marty Thomas is a Grammy-nominated recording artist and an actor who made his Broadway debut at age 11, playing Colin, in “The Secret Garden”. His first major-label recording was singing backup for Carly Simon at the age of 12. That same year, Marty was named a Junior Vocalist Champion on Ed McMahon’s Star Search, beating out a then-unknown Britney Spears.
Marty used his success as a child actor to parlay a very successful stage career on and o? Broadway as an adult. He performed in the Broadway smash hit musicals “Wicked” and “Xanadu”. Marty played Damon’ on the CBS sitcom “Two Broke Girls” and Charlie on the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie” starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. He has toured internationally with his solo act, with touring theatrical productions, and with the famed gospel group “Queen Esther Marrow and the Harlem gospel singers”. Marty has sung with the likes of Jennifer Holliday, Billy Porter, Grace Jones, Patti Labelle, Stephanie Mills, Debbie Gibson, Martha Wash, Barry Manilow, Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, and more. Marty is a renowned performer, director, and producer in the New York cabaret and concert scene.
His show “Marty Thomas Presents DIVA” has toured nationally and performed weekly in a New York club residency for more than eight years. His latest album “Slow Dancing with a Boy” on Broadway Records debuted on the iTunes pop charts at number 19. Marty has three full-length albums and many singles available on iTunes and on all streaming platforms. His solo concert experience has appeared on most major cruise lines and in cabaret venues around the world. He has sung the national anthem for the New York Islanders and the Brooklyn Nets. He has appeared on MTV, VH1, The Oxygen Network, The Today Show, The Tonight Show, and The Tony Awards.
